Janet was diagnosed with intractable epilepsy and intellectual disability at just one and a half years old. Despite these challenges, her love for art remained strong. Though she was told she wasn’t an artist, Janet’s deep emotional connection to colour was undeniable. In 2010, she found a teacher who allowed her to paint freely, marking the start of her artistic journey. Art became not just a passion but a livelihood, allowing Janet to prove her ability beyond her disability. After her passing in July 2023, the Artpreneur Mentorship Program was launched to continue her legacy, helping emerging artists with disabilities find their voice. Janet’s art, collaborations, and story of resilience continue to inspire, showing that with the right support, art can transform lives and offer lasting hope.
