By Tan Beng Leong, Daniel, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists
A sunny afternoon bathed in golden light, where the warmth of a freshly brewed coffee meets the quiet comfort of the moment. The air is still, the table calm, and beside the cup sits a vase of flowers — their soft petals gently unfurling, touched by the same sun that warms the hands holding the mug. A simple scene, yet full of quiet contentment.
About
Tan Beng Leong, Daniel suffered a spinal cord injury in 1982, leaving him with Quadriplegia. Despite the challenges of his new reality, Daniel found a way to express himself through art. Using a brush in his mouth, he began painting, turning what could have been a limitation into a powerful form of self-expression. His artwork reflects his strength, resilience, and determination, showing that creativity can thrive even in the face of adversity.
