Dani’s painting captures the rich history of Singapore’s Chinatown, centred on a traditional Chinese shophouse. The shophouse serves as a time capsule, reflecting the enduring spirit and evolution of this iconic neighbourhood. Standing tall at the forefront, the building exudes a weathered yet resilient charm. Its muted façade, painted in soft shades of faded grey, tells the story of its age — marked by crumbling plaster and wooden shutters that have witnessed decades, if not centuries, of change.

Dani, a 10-year-old artist from AWWA Bedok School, is recognised for his impressive realistic pencil drawings. His keen attention to detail and skilful use of light and shadow bring his portraits and still life works to life with remarkable realism. His work has been featured in the 2024 Shaping Hearts exhibition and other community projects, reflecting his growing presence in the local art scene.
