By Gan Siang Teng, Rainbow Centre Singapore
Set against a backdrop of energetic dry brush strokes, Siang Teng curates a lively collection of the things she treasures most. From the familiar rope bridge in Sentosa to her fondness for Slurpees and parrots, each drawing captures a personal memory or delight. The dominant use of red brings a sense of warmth and intensity to the piece. Adding a touch of bold rhythm to the artwork, the white and yellow used to draw the silhouettes of the landmark provide a balanced contrast to the piece. Through this vivid palette and spirited brushwork, Siang Teng invites us into a world that is both deeply personal and radiantly alive.
