The artist painted this monkey in a moment of stillness – resting on a tree branch, his expression calm and content. He looks innocent and happy at first, but there is more beneath the surface. Behind those quiet eyes is a mind filled with questions. He wonders how leaves grow, why the wind sounds different in the morning, and what lies beyond the tallest tree. The artist sometimes feels that way too. He appears quiet while his mind is filled with ideas and questions. This painting is a reflection of that quiet wonder, being composed on the outside, but filled with curiosity inside.
