By Ross Chong Jia Xu, MINDS Regional Hub (Woodlands)
A bold and expressive cityscape, this vibrant artwork reflects Ross’s unique interpretation of urban life. Inspired by observing real images, Ross begins with careful observation and detailing, before bringing the scene to life through colours in his own distinct style. At the heart of the composition stands the nostalgic Tanjong Pagar building from 1939, lovingly preserved in its original hues. Through his artistic lens, Ross captures both the energy of the present and the quiet elegance of the past.
