By Nicholas Pang, Artzillions
This playful composition brings together the joyful panda—a symbol of joy and nature—with the refreshing sweetness of sugarcane juice, one of Singapore’s most beloved beverages. Blending nature’s charm with the everyday delight of one of Singapore’s favourite beverages, the painting invites viewers to smile at the fusion of culture, humour, and simplicity. Just as sugarcane juice cools the body down on a hot day, this painting aims to bring a sense of lightheartedness and warmth to all who see it.
About
Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the age of three, Nicholas embarked on his journey with early intervention and specialised behavioural therapy. With the support of a dedicated teacher and friends at Mulberry Preschool, he gradually developed the skills and confidence to engage fully with the world around him, even taking part in year-end concerts. To provide him with a tailored learning environment, his transition to Primary One was delayed by two years. Now in his second year of primary school in 2025, Nicholas continues to thrive at his own pace within a supportive and inclusive setting.
