By Zhang Kaini, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists
This painting captures a lively springtime meadow, where wildflowers push their way through dense, emerald-green grasses. Luscious wild flowers bloom in joyful contrast: their scarlet reds, buttery yellows, and indigo blues scattered like confetti across the grassfields. The piece celebrates nature’s quiet awakening, exhaling a burst of colour in vivid hues. Every brushstroke evokes the freshness of nature — an ode to the beauty of spring. It is a timeless tribute to nature’s resilience and splendour, where even the smallest bloom holds a sense of celebration.
About
Zhang Kaini was a Mandarin teacher in Singapore before a car accident left her paralysed from the shoulders down. Refusing to be defeated by her circumstances, she taught herself to paint by holding a brush between her teeth. With remarkable focus and determination, she made rapid progress and soon began earning a living through her art. Today, her intricate and expressive paintings of the natural world are highly sought after. As a full-time artist and member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Worldwide (MFPA), Kaini continues to inspire others, especially Person with Disabilities (PWDs), through her resilience and creative spirit.
