By Wong Yoon Wee Chalmers
In this semi-abstract acrylic painting, Chalmers offers his impression of the Singapore skyline, with the iconic Merlion standing watch over the city. The city lights glimmer softly in the reflection, breathing life into the night, as deep hues of twilight blending seamlessly with the modern skyline. The painting captures the harmonious contrast between old and new, symbolising the enduring spirit of both past and present generations of Singaporeans. Together, their collective efforts have shaped the ever-vibrant prosperity of the nation, which is celebrated in this tribute to SG60.
