Little India pulses with a character all its own, an enclave where rhythm, ritual, and trade shape the streetscape. Temples adorned with sculpted deities and mosques with slender minarets share the skyline, framed by low-rise rows of aged buildings painted in pastel blue, timber windows latticed and rooftops clad in traditional red clay tiles. Serangoon Road cuts through the heart of it all, where eateries spill onto pavements and the air carries the warmth of turmeric, incense, and ghee. Storefronts brim with silk in bold tones, trays of gold glint under fluorescent light, and flower stalls decked with petals folded into garlands.

After a life-changing car accident in 2005 that left her with C6 spinal cord injury, Christina Lau discovered new ways to express herself through art. Despite being paralysed from her chest down and the loss of finger movements, she transformed her journey from Prison Officer to artist, demonstrating remarkable resilience. Through her artwork, she continues to share her unique perspective, proving that creativity knows no physical bounds.
