Clarke Quay is a historic riverside enclave situated along the Singapore River, just upstream from Boat Quay. Since the early 1800s, it has played a vital role in Singapore’s development, once serving as a bustling hub where cargo was unloaded and transported to the surrounding godowns and trading houses. More than just a trading post, Clarke Quay was a meeting point of cultures, commerce, and communities. Today, while its role has evolved, it remains a symbol of Singapore’s rich trading heritage and the vibrant spirit of a city shaped by its river.
About
After a life-changing car accident in 2005 that left her with C6 spinal cord injury, Christina Lau discovered new ways to express herself through art. Despite being paralysed from her chest down and the loss of finger movements, she transformed her journey from Prison Officer to artist, demonstrating remarkable resilience. Through her artwork, she continues to share her unique perspective, proving that creativity knows no physical bounds.
