CHIJMES church, which originally began life as the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus, stands as a graceful remnant of Singapore’s past — a historic complex that once echoed with quiet hymns and footsteps on stone. Today, its sacred walls have been gently repurposed. Within its restored arches and courtyards, restaurants and boutiques now breathe new life into the space. Nestled along Victoria Street in the Downtown Core, the complex rests within one of Singapore’s busiest central business districts.
About
After a life-changing car accident in 2005 that left her with C6 spinal cord injury, Christina Lau discovered new ways to express herself through art. Despite being paralysed from her chest down and the loss of finger movements, she transformed her journey from Prison Officer to artist, demonstrating remarkable resilience. Through her artwork, she continues to share her unique perspective, proving that creativity knows no physical bounds.
