By Tan Beng Leong, Daniel, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists
The puppy sits poised amidst a bed of wildflowers, its head turned. Within its gaze lingers a tinge of reluctance and hesitation — not out of fear, but from something gentler. Perhaps it is the reluctance to leave behind the comfort of the familiar. Or perhaps, the reluctance to be left alone in it.
When the heart is pulled in two directions, sometimes all one can do is pause, look back, and feel.
About
Tan Beng Leong, Daniel suffered a spinal cord injury in 1982, leaving him with Quadriplegia. Despite the challenges of his new reality, Daniel found a way to express himself through art. Using a brush in his mouth, he began painting, turning what could have been a limitation into a powerful form of self-expression. His artwork reflects his strength, resilience, and determination, showing that creativity can thrive even in the face of adversity.
