By Gabriel Rhed Osea Longid
The artist painted this otter because otters always seemed to be smiling – joyful, lighthearted animals floating effortlessly through life. This otter has a small right ear – a subtle detail that might go unnoticed by most, but not by the artist. The artist feels that this is what makes the otter special. The otter still swims happily, having fun in the blue waves, not bothered by it. The artist made the otter's belly beige as he imagined it as something warm and comforting. This painting reminds the artist that being different does not mean that something is wrong. It simply means that one is otterly special.
