By Ong Chee Hwee
Mr Ong reflects on the joy of childhood through familiar pastimes such as the paper ball, chapteh, and Gasing Pangkah. Each object becomes a symbol of creativity and resourcefulness, recalling afternoons filled with laughter, movement, and friendly competition. The composition captures the innocence of play, where simple handmade toys brought endless delight and connection among friends. Through this work, the artist celebrates the beauty of shared memories, reminding viewers of a time when happiness was found in the simplest of games and carefree companionship.
