Playground of Memories

"Playground of Memories" is inspired by the iconic dragon-shaped playground, a childhood haven for many as they gathered there with friends to play, explore and connect. The penguins in the foreground symbolise individuals of different abilities and backgrounds brought closer through the power of play. Ross uses bold shapes and colours to reflect a childlike perspective, evoking memories of carefree moments spent outdoors in viewers. This artwork invites viewers to recognise how playgrounds are more than just physical structures, they are places where bonds are formed and memories are created.

About

Living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Ross discovered his passion for art at the age of seven through self-directed experimentation with various drawing and painting materials. Without formal training, he developed strong observational skills and a careful attention to detail. After joining ART:DIS, he further expanded his practice through weekly art lessons. A dedicated artist, Ross draws daily and creates an annual hand-drawn calendar for family and friends, while exploring hand lettering, graphic design and minimalist illustration.
