Play in Harmony

"Play in Harmony" presents a lively scene of colourful birds gathered among branches and leaves. The birds symbolise individuals of different abilities and backgrounds coming together in one shared space, coexisting peacefully in a spirit of balance and understanding. Bright colours and patterns reflect joy, creativity, and curiosity, while the overlapping branches suggest the interaction and cooperation that play naturally encourages. The piece is a gentle reminder that harmony is created when people come together, respect their differences, and share in joyful moments.

About

Mary is an artist with Intellectual Disability who discovered her interest in art through creating and connecting with others. Her practice developed after joining the MINDS Craft Unit, where she was introduced to drawing and painting. Over the past year, she has grown in confidence, exploring colours, shapes and imaginative ideas as art became a meaningful form of expression.
