"Growing Joy Together" reflects how play and shared experiences nurture connection among people of all abilities. The bold, textured sunflowers in warm yellow tones symbolise growth and positivity, while their arrangement in a single vase represents individuals from different backgrounds united in one space, each contributing to a vibrant whole. The colourful patterned vase adds a playful, creative energy, and the brick-like background suggests a strong foundation built through mutual support. Inspired by simple moments of creating and sharing art with others, the piece shows how play can be expressive, inclusive, and deeply meaningful.

Maria Cheng Wen Jia is an artist with Down Syndrome who discovered her talent through a quiet appreciation for drawing and painting. She expresses herself through cartoons and visual art, using her unique style to communicate ideas and emotions. Through regular practice, she continues to develop her skills with creativity and dedication.
