Seaside View - Boat Quay Parking

Where land and sea meet, sits a seaside boat quay with a parking area. While the area appears calm to the eye, the fleet of boats stretching along the waterfront are in constant motion. Simultaneously, fishermen and visitors are docking and setting off, or returning back to the land. Under the scorching hot sun, reflections of boats glisten across the surface of the sea as waves softly ripple against the quay. This artwork transports viewers into a tranquil and lively seaside, evoking a sense of clamness.

About

William Chia Yong Liang’s life took a turn in 1984, when a spinal cord injury left him Quadriplegic. Yet this was merely the beginning of his incredible journey. In 2007, a stroke took his voice and confined him to his bed, but he never gave up. With the steadfast care and support of his wife, alongside years of rehabilitation, he reclaimed his strength and now sits in his wheelchair, a living testament to the strength of the human will.
