Tulips

Native to Central Asia and Turkey, tulips are now cherished worldwide, often symbolizing perfect love, cheerfulness, or elegance. In full bloom, they are a spectacle to behold with their large, showy petals in various shades of vibrant red, pink, yellow, orange and white. In this artwork, the artist chooses to illustrate a pair of coral pink tulips standing tall with its voluminous petals. A pair of butterflies with delicate crimson orange wings flutter by the tulips, bringing life to the painting.

About

William Chia Yong Liang’s life took a turn in 1984, when a spinal cord injury left him Quadriplegic. Yet this was merely the beginning of his incredible journey. In 2007, a stroke took his voice and confined him to his bed, but he never gave up. With the steadfast care and support of his wife, alongside years of rehabilitation, he reclaimed his strength and now sits in his wheelchair, a living testament to the strength of the human will.
