Dressed in a festive red hat, the teddy bear stands barely taller than the beautifully wrapped gift box in front. He peers curiously at the box, perhaps wondering what’s in it, while holding colourful heart-shaped balloons in another hand. The adorable bear radiates warmth, celebration, and childlike wonder. The soft pastel background and playful details create a comforting atmosphere, making the artwork a delightful symbol of love, friendship, and joyful giving.

Victor Hoon lives with Quadriplegia following a road traffic accident in 2005 that resulted in a C4/C5 spinal cord injury. He discovered mouth painting during SPD’s Transition Programme for Employment, guided by artist Christina Lau. What began as a new experience grew into a meaningful form of self-expression. Through steady practice, mouth painting has become both his creative outlet and an important part of his identity.
