By Stanley Lin MingJie, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA)
A quiet forest of slender white trunks rises in stillness, their vertical lines standing like silent sentinels in a mist-laden landscape. The palette is restrained, soft greys, muted blacks, and pale light, punctuated only by delicate flecks of amber leaves drifting gently above. The ground, textured with subtle hints of life, anchors the scene without disturbing its calm. The space feels contemplative, almost sacred, where silence is not absence but depth. The artist hopes to evoke introspection within viewers as this artwork signifies resilience, and a quiet acceptance of being alone, yet whole.
About
A life-changing accident in 2005 left Lin Ming Jie with spinal cord injuries resulting in Quadriplegia and ending his career as an aerospace engineer. In 2008, he discovered mouth painting, which became a source of purpose and creative expression. Painting with a brush held in his mouth, he explores light, nature and flowers, creating works that evoke calm and quiet resilience. His art uses light as a symbol of hope, renewal and inner strength, offering viewers moments of reflection and peace.
