By Kok Tuck Chong, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA)
"Tiong Bahru Road" is a serene and lovingly observed depiction of one of Singapore's most beloved heritage neighbourhoods, capturing the quiet rhythm of its shopfronts, shaded pavements, and the distant flutter of birds among the trees. The palette of whites, blues, and reds is handled with confident restraint, allowing the scene's natural charm to breathe. The artist's command of proportion and perspective lends the composition a convincing, almost photographic sense of place. It reflects an artist of considerable technical skill and deep affection for Singapore's architectural heritage, bringing both precision and warmth to the art of urban observation.
About
Kok Tuck Chong’s journey took a life-changing turn in 1990, when a fall left him with Quadriplegia. However, he found a new path forward through painting, where his incredible talent and precision shine. His artwork is a stunning reflection of his resilience, capturing both the beauty of the world around him and the strength that lies within. Each piece is a powerful reminder that no challenge can dim the light of true artistic expression.
