By Janetta Tan, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA)
A giant leafless tree is rendered in striking silhouette, its thousands of branches fanning outward in intricate, lace-like detail against an enormous setting sun burning deep orange on the horizon. The sky above fades into a hazy purple dusk, the contrast between the dark, skeletal tree and the warm luminosity behind it both dramatic and deeply evocative. It is a meditation on stillness, the passage of time, and the quiet grandeur of nature at the close of day. Days and nights are brighter than we expect. Fly free.
About
Janetta is a mouth painting artist who turned to art after a life-changing car accident in 2010, which left her paralysed from the chest down. Through mouth painting, she found a way to express herself and regain control. Over time, it has helped her develop patience, precision, and joy, with each stroke of colour symbolising her journey of personal growth and resilience.
