"Dreams in the Sky" is a visually enchanting batik work. The linework is defined and elegant, and the colour mixing and shading moving through purples, blues, light blues, greens, and yellows demonstrate a level of control. Across the canvas, hot air balloons drift upward through different hemispheres of sky, each one a small vessel of hope and imagination floating toward the unknown. The mood is magical and dreamy, and the work reflects an artist who has found in batik a medium perfectly suited to her love of the sky and all the quiet, hopeful possibilities it holds.
