Shining Among the Stars

"Shining Among the Stars" is a batik work. Against a vast expanse of deep black space, a small, solitary astronaut floats suited up and adrift, surrounded by a scattering of yellow stars that do little to fill the enormous emptiness around them. The contrast between the figure's smallness and the scale of the dark space beside it gives the composition a sense of both wonder and gentle isolation.

Jozie, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is known for her kind and helpful nature. She draws inspiration from Mandarin classics, music and culture, which bring emotion and vibrancy to her work. Her artworks feature vivid colours and experimentation, and she also enjoys creating art and handmade jewellery using materials such as Hama beads to create both art and handmade jewellery that reflect her playful and imaginative spirit.
