By Tay Bee Lian, Handicaps Welfare Association
This painting eloquently captures the delicate balance between Singapore’s sleek modernity and the enduring presence of its rich cultural heritage. It draws the viewer into a visual narrative where gleaming skyscrapers stand not in opposition to tradition, but in graceful conversation with it. Iconic symbols of the city’s past are seamlessly woven into the urban fabric. In doing so, the artwork becomes more than a scene; it is an invitation to pause, reflect, and embrace the quiet elegance of a city that thrives on both innovation and memory.
