All diversity of people coming together to play

This artwork brings together a rich diversity of people united in the spirit of play, with each figure representing individuals of different races, abilities, and hidden disabilities. The artist makes a heartfelt statement that inclusion is essential, that no one should be left out because of their differences. Each person in the composition carries their own strengths and talents, and play becomes the space where these qualities are celebrated rather than overlooked, reminding viewers that a truly joyful community is one where everyone belongs.

Living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Melissa Lim Shi Ming discovered her passion for art through drawing. With support from her case manager, psychiatrist and therapists, she developed her skills through regular practice. She often creates hand-drawn “thank you” cards, using art to express gratitude and communicate her creativity. Art remains an important form of self-expression for her.
