The golden retriever brims with energy as it beams with eagerness, excited for playtime. For the artist, the dog evokes memories of play with family and friends, where he felt a moment of carefree joy. In that instant, the joy of playtime feels shared, connecting him and his loved ones, even if everyone’s ways of playing were different.

About

Hong Wei is an emerging artist fascinated by animals, both real and imagined, from a young age. He often depicts sea creatures like hermit crabs and whales alongside fictional inspirations such as dragons and Pokémon. Living with Muscular Dystrophy, he continues to adapt his creative practice through digital tools. Through Muscular Dystrophy Association Singapore (MDAS) art classes, he has developed his skills and growing confidence as an artist and designer.
