Perched among lush rainforest foliage, a vibrant toucan clutches a bright fruit in its beak, caught in nature’s playful rhythm. Its alert posture and curious gaze brings a smile to the artist’s face, reminding him of moments of exploration and discovery with family and friends. Such moments of simple curiosity and playful energy bring people together in everyday surroundings.

Hong Wei is an emerging artist fascinated by animals, both real and imagined, from a young age. He often depicts sea creatures like hermit crabs and whales alongside fictional inspirations such as dragons and Pokémon. Living with Muscular Dystrophy, he continues to adapt his creative practice through digital tools. Through Muscular Dystrophy Association Singapore (MDAS) art classes, he has developed his skills and growing confidence as an artist and designer.
