Between Motion and Meaning

This painting portrays a Blue Jay as the centre of attention, holding a small round object in its beak. The artist imagines the little game it might be playing — hopping, dropping, or hiding it next. Nearby, a bird lover notices too, and the two observers exchange smiles, quietly sharing in the curiosity. The moment stretches gently, playful in thought, as they follow the bird together.

Cassandra is an artist who enjoys colouring and painting, using colour as a powerful way to express emotion and mood. Her interest in art began in primary school, where she developed a strong sense of colour harmony. She later joined Muscular Dystrophy Association Singapore (MDAS)’s Art Class to further develop her creativity. Living with Muscular Dystrophy, she continues to create despite physical challenges, using art as a meaningful outlet for expression and joy.
