By Tan Beng Leong, Daniel, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists
Beneath a sky brushed with cotton clouds, a single lone road divides rows of tulips in joyful colour bloom on one side and on the other, furrows carved into the soil, ready to bear fruit. A lone farmer tends to a laborious task of turning the land. Despite the effort, the surroundings offer quiet reward: the vibrant rows of spring blossoms, the gentle rustle of trees in warm hues, and the snow-capped mountains standing still in the distance. Here, the weight of the task is softened by the beauty that surrounds it.
About
Tan Beng Leong, Daniel suffered a spinal cord injury in 1982, leaving him with Quadriplegia. Despite the challenges of his new reality, Daniel found a way to express himself through art. Using a brush in his mouth, he began painting, turning what could have been a limitation into a powerful form of self-expression. His artwork reflects his strength, resilience, and determination, showing that creativity can thrive even in the face of adversity.
