At the heart of this painting stands the iconic Merlion: a symbol of Singapore’s strength and resilience. Framed by the Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands, the scene reflects the nation’s progress and spirit of innovation. Above, golden fireworks light up the night sky in celebration. In the vivid red foreground, children from all walks of life wave their flags with joy and pride, reflecting the unity that binds Singaporeans. With bold colours and expressive strokes, Jun Yao captures the warmth, diversity, and forward-looking spirit of the nation; a tribute to the strength of its people, standing together as one.

Jun Yao is a talented artist with a unique ability to capture the charm of animals in his work. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),  at the age of four, he graduated from AWWA Special School, where he honed his skills. His love for animal expressions led him to create whimsical cartoon characters, and his art has been featured in exhibitions and on merchandise. Specialising in watercolours, Jun Yao’s work reflects his creativity, perseverance, and distinctive perspective on the world.
