By Tan Beng Leong, Daniel, Mouth and Foot Painting Artists
Rising gently from still waters, the lotus blooms in quiet splendour. Said to be a symbol of strength, resilience, and renewal. Each petal unfolds above the surface, untouched by the depths below, serene in its ascent. Among broad green leaves, the blossoms rest like whispers of grace. In the language of nature, the lotus speaks softly, but powerfully: to rise, to endure, and to begin again.
About
Tan Beng Leong, Daniel suffered a spinal cord injury in 1982, leaving him with Quadriplegia. Despite the challenges of his new reality, Daniel found a way to express himself through art. Using a brush in his mouth, he began painting, turning what could have been a limitation into a powerful form of self-expression. His artwork reflects his strength, resilience, and determination, showing that creativity can thrive even in the face of adversity.
