This painting captures the heart of Singapore’s breakfast culture, simple moments shared over kopi, soft-boiled eggs, and kaya butter toast. The red hawker tray, with cracked eggshells and traditional fare, reflects connection and community, weaving a timeless thread through our everyday lives. These rituals transcend differences of age, background, and culture, nurturing the enduring kampong spirit. As we celebrate SG60, these everyday traditions remind us of our shared spirit and inspire us to preserve the values that shape our Singaporean identity. In a world that moves fast, it is these quiet, heartfelt moments that keep us rooted and define who we are as Singaporeans.
