天天向上: Up and Up

Red peonies carry meanings of love, passion, and respect. In this artwork, each flower represents peers in Singapore whom the artist has grown up alongside through school and daily life. Rooted in familiar places and shared experiences, they continue to move forward together in search of growth and possibility. The artwork captures this shared momentum, where progress is not experienced alone but collectively, shaped by the presence and support of one another. It reflects a quiet, continuous upward movement, carried by connection along the way.

About

Serene’s artistic practice emerged through community arts programmes, where creative engagement supported her recovery journey while living with Schizophrenia. Through art-making, she developed greater connection, trust and openness. After exploring different mediums, she returned to Chinese ink, drawn to its aesthetics and philosophy. Her practice now serves as a space for reflection, self-regulation and creative inquiry, allowing her to engage deeply with herself and the world around her.
