Playing in Nature

Cara's work responds to the theme of play by making a gentle case for time spent outdoors, in the company of nature and away from screens. The artist encourages a return to play rooted in curiosity and discovery like searching for fishes and frogs. Nature, in this work, is presented not as a backdrop but as a living playground, rich with adventure and the kind of learning that cannot be replicated indoors. It is a celebration of the natural world as an essential part of growing up.

Miyana Cara Lim, diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Dyslexia, has a natural love for doodling and hands-on creative making through drawing, clay and playful materials. She enjoys inventing characters and working spontaneously with imagination. Encouraged by her mother and art classes, she has grown in confidence, taking part in her first international competition in 2025 and her first exhibition in Paris in 2026.
