A gentle duck leads her ducklings across a colourful Peranakan-inspired courtyard, creating a scene filled with warmth, movement, and togetherness. The playful little ducklings waddling closely behind reflect memories of childhood games, family outings, and growing up surrounded by loved ones and neighbours. Inspired by familiar community spaces and heritage homes, Sijun’s artwork captures how simple moments of play and companionship can bring people closer across generations. Sijun is a cheerful boy with Down Syndrome and a Congenital Heart Defect who finds joy in painting vibrant, colourful scenes. Despite challenges with speech, vision and motor skills, he paints with patience and determination, carefully building each canvas stroke by stroke. Beyong painting, Sijun enjoys designing dream homes on his iPad and aspires to study interior design one day, hoping to create beautiful spaces that bring joy, just like the colours in his artwork.
