The classic merry-go-round is reimagined here as an inclusive haven where little animals of all shapes and sizes ride together. Drawing on his profound love for animal expressions, Jun Yao paints a vibrant carousel, a metaphor for an inclusive society. The circular motion of the ride represents an endless cycle of joy and togetherness, where everyone, regardless of who they are, has a seat at the playground. This piece reminds us that play is a great equaliser, breaking down social barriers and allowing a diverse community to share the same delightful rhythm.

Jun Yao is an artist known for capturing the charm of animals in his work. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), he graduated from AWWA Special School, where he developed his artistic skills in a supportive environment. Inspired by animal expressions, he creates whimsical watercolour characters that embody warmth, sensitivity and imagination. His work has been featured in exhibitions and on merchandise, reflecting not only his creativity but also his unique perspective on the world.
