The artist envisions a whimsical home for botanical lovers, where flora takes centre stage. In this painting, acrylics, acrylic pens, wool, mirrors, gold leaf, and 3D butterflies blend together to create a playful, nature-infused scene. Polka-dotted flowers with striped stems stand tall, while potted plants become patterned characters in this domestic setting. Butterflies hover mid-flight, and yarn spills like moss across the scene. Set against a charcoal background and a saffron table, the artwork radiates warmth, humour, and a deep, abiding love for nature.

Working under the moniker “The Unskilled Boy,” Alex Lim, an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),  transforms everyday observations into vibrant, detail-rich compositions. His artistic journey spans multiple mediums and styles, from abstract to pop art, reaching a milestone in 2024 with his 500th painting. Through exhibitions in Singapore, Korea, and soon Barcelona, he shares his unique vision of the world — one where ordinary subjects are playfully reconstructed through intricate arrangements of shapes and colours, each piece reflecting his authentic creative voice.
