This artwork captures a single, exhilarating moment of a large fish launching itself clear of the water in a burst of white spray and motion. The artist renders the scene in a rich range of blues, from the deep, dark tones of the open water to the pale, foamy white of the splash, building a composition that feels dynamic. The work reflects an artist with a genuine love for animals and a gift for placing them within their natural habitats, using storytelling and careful observation to bring the scene to vivid, convincing life.

About

Joshua is an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who began his journey with a strong interest in drawing, using bold pencil lines and dense shading. With guidance from his art therapist teacher Karyn, he developed his understanding of contrast, silhouettes and visual storytelling. He continues to grow his artistic practice through exhibitions, including his third participation in the Shaping Hearts Exhibition.
