Peekaboo Beneath the Blue

"Peekaboo Beneath the Blue" is a small, delightful portrait full of quiet charm. A grey cat with bright green eyes and a soft brown nose peers out at the viewer from beneath the folds of a blue blanket or towel. It is an intimate and affectionate work, reflecting an artist with a keen eye for the small, unguarded moments of animal behaviour that so often go unnoticed, and a genuine warmth for the subjects he chooses to observe.

About

Joshua is an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who began his journey with a strong interest in drawing, using bold pencil lines and dense shading. With guidance from his art therapist teacher Karyn, he developed his understanding of contrast, silhouettes and visual storytelling. He continues to grow his artistic practice through exhibitions, including his third participation in the Shaping Hearts Exhibition.
