Against a lush green background, a blue bird rests upon a brown branch, its form calm and composed, a single pink flower blooming nearby in gentle contrast. The palette is simple but thoughtful blue, green, brown, and pink working together in easy, complementary balance. The mood is serene and unhurried, as though the viewer has stumbled upon a private moment in the natural world and paused, breath held, so as not to disturb it. The work reflects an artist who is deeply observant and genuinely at ease in nature, with a quiet gift for capturing its stillness with sensitivity and care.

About

Joshua is an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who began his journey with a strong interest in drawing, using bold pencil lines and dense shading. With guidance from his art therapist teacher Karyn, he developed his understanding of contrast, silhouettes and visual storytelling. He continues to grow his artistic practice through exhibitions, including his third participation in the Shaping Hearts Exhibition.
