Starry Night

Isaac reimagines Van Gogh's "Starry Night", retaining the iconic swirling sky, radiant stars, and towering cypress tree while introducing 2 silent cats at the base. These feline figures gaze upwards in contemplative wonder, representative of the artist and his fraternal twin. Their close brotherly bond grounds them from the chaos that swirls in their view above. This artwork invites viewers to reminisce about times when a sibling’s care provided a sense of calmness during challenging times.

About

Isaac is an artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who draws inspiration from his upbringing in Bali. Surrounded by rich cultural traditions, nature and the sea, his experiences continue to shape his artistic expression. Through his work, he communicates a personal perspective filled with colour, harmony and a deep appreciation of heritage, which he continues to develop after returning to Singapore following the COVID-19 pandemic.
