This watercolour artwork captures one of Singapore’s most cherished natural icons: the majestic Tembusu Heritage Tree, over 200 years old and standing proudly in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Framed in non-reflective glass, the painting pays tribute to this living monument, with its expansive canopy and deeply rooted presence. A favourite spot for visitors and photographers alike, the tree’s grandeur and quiet dignity have made it a symbol of strength, heritage, and timeless beauty in the heart of the city.
About
Katy began her career as a personal assistant in a pharmaceutical company but chose to follow her passion for nature and floral design, running her own flower shop for 10 years. After developing an eye condition, she was forced to close the business. In 1995, surgery to remove a tumour from her optic nerve left her blind in one eye with tunnel vision in the other. Undeterred, Katy turned to painting as a new form of expression. Through art, she continues to find joy, strength, and purpose.
