The Giant Waterfall Hug

This painting is a vivid portrayal of the giant waterfall at Gardens by the Bay. The artist sought to capture the waterfall as something immense, luminous, and quietly magica. The sweeping white lines trace the movement of water and light cascading in every direction, reflecting the way the eye instinctively follows all its patterns at once. The lush green forms feel like nature itself wrapping protectively around the falls. The artist imagined standing at its base, hearing the thunderous roar, feeling the cool mist on the skin, and watching everything around shimmer and sparkle in the light.

For Gabriel, art is a warm space of colour, wonder and imagination where everyday moments become stories. Living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), he expresses himself through painting, sculpting and writing, often depicting animals and meaningful places. His journey with Shaping Hearts began through his art therapist and teacher, Karyn, where he found a safe space to grow in confidence. In 2024, he shared his creative process publicly and continues to develop his artistic practice.
