This painting celebrates Singapore’s vibrant Hawker Culture, which was successfully inscribed onto the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2020. Depicted in nostalgic sepia tones, the artwork illustrates the evolution of hawker life, from humble pushcarts to structured food centres, capturing the spirit of a culture that has fed generations. In the background stands Lau Pa Sat, a historic icon that anchors the composition, symbolising continuity amidst change. The piece pays tribute to the resilience, diversity, and communal heart of Singapore’s culinary heritage.

Vincent Seet (Seet Kie Hong) is a two-time stroke survivor and former educator who has turned to art as a means of personal healing and self-expression. Believing that every painting is a dream come true, Vincent uses his artwork to inspire peace and harmony. Over the years, he has supported various charitable causes both locally and internationally. He also volunteers his time to teach painting to mental health patients, helping them discover the therapeutic benefits of art and providing an outlet for their emotions.
