By Shaarvin Siva Kumar, Rainbow Centre Singapore
This joyful artwork is Shaarvin’s heartfelt tribute to everyday moments that include swimming with Appa, beach outings, and shopping at the supermarket with his family. Scattered around the artwork are his favourite foods like Milo, oranges, and bananas, which they purchase from the supermarket. Festive icons of Deepavali, Hari Raya, and Chinese New Year reflect the warmth of shared celebrations with friends, while playful spotted and striped fish represents the doodles in his sketchbook. Rendered in red and white are the colours of the Singapore flag. This piece captures the spirit of belonging, childhood wonder, and the love Shaarvin holds for the place he proudly calls home.
