In "Stillness in Bloom", the artist blends shades with her hands into a muted concrete grey, covering the canvas in tones reminiscent of weathered pavement. Pausing in quiet thought, she then gently dabs bursts of neon colour with her fingertips, creating a bloom that feels like flowers pushing their way up through the ground — a tender, resilient act of beauty revealing itself even within the bleak, and reminding us that colour and life will always find a way through.

Genine’s artistic journey began in 2019 during art psychotherapy sessions at Extraordinary People with Principal Art Therapist Ms Lama. Living with Global Developmental Delay (GDD), she progressed from early repeated markings to painting through patient guidance. The fluidity of paint helped unlock her expression, leading to dynamic, movement-filled works. She now creates intuitively using paint, hands and feet, producing bold compositions that reflect her curiosity and energy.
