Enjoyment by The River

"Enjoyment by The River" loves the colours and energy of Boat Quay. The bright, vibrant buildings and ever-morning river make the place energetic. He enjoys watching the boats go up and down the water, like in the past when they were used to carry goods. Sijun wanted to capture the joyfulness and liveliness of this place by using bold colours. The shophouses are special to him as they are old but still radiate beauty. The riverside hums with life as people savour their meals and the lovely view, filling the air with warmth and joy. Sijun imagined himself as part of the crowd, sitting in a restaurant and embracing the vibrant river scene while enjoying a meal. Can you spot him?

About

Sijun is a cheerful boy who finds joy in painting vibrant, colourful scenes. Born with Down Syndrome and Congenital Heart Defect, he has faced many challenges, including surgeries and difficulties with speech, vision, and gripping objects. Nevertheless, his love for painting has remained strong. Though he paints slowly, carefully filling each canvas stroke by stroke, he never gives up. Outside of painting, Sijun enjoys designing dream homes on his iPad and aspires to study interior design, hoping to create beautiful spaces that bring joy, just like the colours in his artwork.
